Respiratory Care Practitioner III

Under the clinical supervision of the medical director of respiratory care and the overall supervision of the manager, assistant manager, and respiratory care supervisor, the respiratory care practitioner (RCP), III functions in a safe, expedient, and cost-effective manner in providing, responding to patient needs, and documenting respiratory care and services provided. The respiratory care practitioner III is involved in the clinical ladder program which is a voluntary promotion system that recognizes health care professionals who demonstrate advanced knowledge, critical thinking skills, and professional development.

Minimum Requirements

• American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
• Associate degree or higher in an approved CoARC program for respiratory care.
• Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire and is maintained yearly.
• Registered respiratory therapist (RRT) is required.
• American Heart Association ACLS is required.
• If working in the children's hospital you are required to have AHA PALS and NRP in place of the AHA ACLS and you must have completed the NBRC NPS exam by 12 months from your orientation end date.
• For non-medical center respiratory care departments AHA BLS and ACLS are required. AHA PALS and NRP are required at 6 months from hire date.
• Accepting applications for all levels of experience (new grads - 25+ years of experience).

Pay Range

• New grad pay begins at $32.50 per hour.
• 30K commitment bonus available.
• Relocation assistance.

• Rotating shifts
  • 2 night shifts + 1 day shift or 3 night shifts per week.
  • 12 hour shifts (7P-7A or 7A-7P).
  • Rotating weekends.
  • No on call required.

ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical, and radiation oncology. In addition, the wound healing and pain management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.
