Operations Manager - Power Solutions Logistics

Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop and improve efficient hauling operations for logistics movements.Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in partnership with HSE.Establish financial plans, utilization targets, and KPI goals.Optimize fleet utilization while balancing internal fleet capacity and third-party carriers.Ensure 100% on-time deliveries and uninterrupted supply to job sites.Recruit, hire, schedule, develop, and, when necessary, terminate drivers, dispatchers, and support staff.Ensure DOT compliance and safe fleet operations.Maintain knowledge of all trucking regulations.Review logs, DVIRs, violations, and other compliance documentation.Monitor and validate Hours of Service compliance.Manage KPIs including utilization, service, revenue, and costs.Motivate employees to achieve performance goals while maintaining legal compliance.Verify drivers understand schedules, assignments, and delivery requirements.Ensure shipping documentation is accurate, complete, and distributed appropriately.Analyze mileage, payroll, overtime, and labor utilization to control costs.Conduct coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions when necessary.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Knowledge of the oilfield industry, products, and services.Ability to develop and improve hauling capabilities.Thorough knowledge of trucking regulations.Strong operational, leadership, and organizational skills.Language RequirementAbility to understand, speak, receive, and respond to operational and safety-related communications in English.Experience Requirements4-5 years of domestic shipping and logistics experience preferred.Experience supporting transportation of materials for Oil & Gas or Energy customers preferred.Working ConditionsShifts longer than 8 hours may be required.Work performed in both office and field environments.Exposure to extreme temperatures and operational hazards.Limited travel requirements.Primarily sedentary office work with occasional standing and walking.Frequent computer work, typing, communication, and administrative oversight responsibilities.Level of ResponsibilityWorks with limited direction and a high degree of independence.Develops solutions to complex operational and logistical challenges.Responsible for both short-term and long-term transportation planning.Typical problem resolution timelines range from several weeks to six months.Operates within broad departmental policies and procedures.Ideal Candidate ProfileExperienced transportation or logistics leader.Strong understanding of DOT regulations and fleet management.Proven background in driver management and dispatch operations.Experience managing KPIs, budgets, utilization, and cost controls.Oilfield, energy, or industrial transportation experience preferred.Strong leadership, compliance, and safety mindset.Ability to balance operational efficiency with customer service and profitability.About UsThe Evolving Oil Field Demands Evolving Service Providers NexTier is a leading provider of integrated completions that employs sustainable practices and equipment to support our customers' ESG goals while accelerating production in the most demanding US land basins.Patterson-UTI is committed to a workplace free from discrimination and harassment, offering equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of personal characteristics protected by law.
