Director of Operations

$60,000–$90,000 + Performance Bonus BAC is growing, and we're looking for a Director of Firm Operations to help run the business so our CPAs can focus on client work. This isn't an administrative support role. You'll lead our payroll and administrative teams while overseeing the systems and processes that keep BAC moving—from payroll and HR to client onboarding, capacity planning, firm operations, and compliance. We're looking for someone who sees a process that isn't working and wants to make it better—and who can lead others through the change. What We Offer $60,000–$90,000 base salary , depending on experience Performance bonus tied to operational goals Health, dental, and vision insurance SIMPLE IRA with 3% employer match 120 hours of PTO plus firm holidays Paid professional development, CPE, and certification support Direct access to firm leadership and the opportunity to help shape how BAC grows What You'll Own Payroll Operations Oversee quality, accuracy, and turnaround for client payroll Build and maintain quality-control processes Oversee payroll tax notices, filing calendars, and multi-state compliance Coach and develop our payroll lead Oversee BAC's internal payroll Firm Operations & Client Onboarding Manage firm priorities, accountability, and operational processes across locations Build capacity plans to identify workload bottlenecks before they become problems Develop and improve firm workflows and standard operating procedures Oversee TaxDome as our primary system for workflows, deadlines, and client communication Own new client onboarding from engagement through handoff Make sure the details get handled and important steps don't get missed People & HR Oversee recruiting, employee onboarding, development, benefits, and offboarding Manage benefits, open enrollment, and broker/carrier relationships Maintain employee policies, handbook, and personnel records Track professional licensing and CPE requirements Serve as a resource for employee payroll, benefit, and policy questions Security & Business Continuity Oversee BAC's information security program and related compliance requirements Maintain business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident-response procedures Coordinate access reviews and employee security training What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience in operations, HR, payroll, firm administration, or a related leadership role Hands-on payroll experience, including compliance and tax notice resolution Experience leading and developing employees Proven ability to build and improve processes Strong organization, communication, and follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Confidence working with employees, clients, and firm leadership Bonus points for: public accounting or professional services experience; QuickBooks, Intuit payroll, or TaxDome knowledge; information security familiarity; or SHRM, PHR, payroll, operations, or similar certifications.
