Company Description Harrison County Community Hospital (HCCH) is a critical access hospital serving residents in the rural communities of northern Missouri. The hospital offers a broad range of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care services, providing comprehensive care close to home, in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility that just opened in June. Role Description This full-time, on-site MLT/MLS role is based at Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany, MO. The professional in this role performs routine and complex laboratory testing across multiple disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, microbiology, and transfusion services as appropriate to credentials. Daily responsibilities include specimen collection and processing, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, performing quality control procedures, and accurately recording and reporting results to clinical providers. The MLT/MLS collaborates with nursing and medical staff to support patient diagnosis and treatment, follows established laboratory policies and regulatory standards, and participates in proficiency testing and ongoing process improvement. This role also involves identifying and troubleshooting analytical issues, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing occasional support for training new team members or students. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong clinical laboratory skills, including specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as performance of routine and specialized tests. Candidates should possess skills in laboratory instrumentation, including operation, calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of analyzers and related equipment. Candidates should possess competencies in quality control and quality assurance, including documentation, proficiency testing, and adherence to CLIA and other regulatory standards. Candidates should possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret test results, recognize abnormal findings, and verify data accuracy. Candidates should possess strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with clinicians, nursing staff, and other laboratory professionals. Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related field from an accredited program is preferred. Certification as MLT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent national certification is highly beneficial Ability to work scheduled shifts, including possible evenings, weekends, or holidays, and to perform duties in a fast-paced, patient-centered rural hospital environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Harrison County Community Hospital
