Southland Construction is seeking a full-timeSurvey Technician - Rodman. This entry level position will assist the Foreman and Survey Coordinator for timely completion of assignments. Responsibilities Unloads and deploys equipment and materials.Assists survey crew with chaining and measuring, setting forward stationing.Responsible for correct data collectionResponsible for care of Equipment.Responsible for setting up and taking down all equipment.Records data, sketches, visual inspections, etc.Clears brush and small limbs as necessary to obtain line of sight readings. Responsibility for Equipment Gathers equipment and materials necessary for survey field work and loads them in the survey vehicle.Prepares the survey vehicle for the field verifying that all the necessary equipment and materials are loaded and ready for a prompt departure from the office.Is mindful of the location of all equipment taking into the field and assures that all equipment used is returned to the survey vehicle before leaving the site.Responsible for care of Equipment.Responsible for setting up and taking down all equipment.Upon return to the office unloads equipment, cleans equipment and charges and makes sure that batteries are charged and/or replaced so that equipment is ready for the next use. Downloads digital photos from the day to the project directory as supervised.Notifies Licensed Land Surveyor of need for additional stocks of consumables such as stakes, nails, flagging, monuments or marker paint.Performs field staking as needed Qualifications: Civil Construction experience preferredBridge Experience preferred but not necessaryHigh School Diploma with excellent skills in Mathematics, penmanship and communication We are an Equal Opportunity company.
