What You’ll Do The position is responsible for ensuring compliance to all applicable documentation as required by contractual agreement with specific customers. This includes, but is not limited to gauge control and calibration, proper adherence to specified test procedures, revision of such test methods as necessary, security issues, and continuing qualification to perform required measurements. Interact and communicate with technicians, supervisors, contract administrators, and external qualifying agencies (among others) Work closely with manufacturing, complete visual inspection of in-process material and makes associated judgements regarding further processing requirements (keeping in mind final requirements) Preparation and evaluation of metallographic mounts Personal qualification to perform required testing is maintained by successful passing of written, oral, and "hands on" testing carried out by qualifying agency Responsible for the Certifies in-process and finished materials using established, approved test methods as required by contracting agencies Keeps accurate and complete records for certification, calibration, and security purposes Calibrates equipment and essentials at specified intervals Maintains and repairs equipment and instrumentation (e.g. microscopes, hardness tester, screens, polishing units) What You’ll Need To be successful in this position, you must: Possess an Associates Degree in technical field or related curriculum and up to 10 years of experience Be well organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to work well independently and in a team setting Have good mathematical skills, basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office), and good mechanical abilities Possess a professional attitude toward confidentiality as the incumbent is exposed to classified information Fully understand all pertinent documentation as called out under applicable contract guidelines Be able to pass a thorough background check and drug test to receive a D.O.E.
