In this position, you will…

\n

As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will serve as a technical and solutions-focused partner throughout the sales process, helping prospective customers and partners understand how bolt's technology and insurance solutions can address their business needs.

\n

You will work closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to lead technical discovery, translate business requirements into solution approaches, demonstrate product capabilities, and help move opportunities from initial discovery through close.

\n

You will be responsible for…

\n

\n
• Partnering with Sales to understand prospect requirements, business objectives, and technical environments
\n
• Leading technical discovery sessions with prospective customers and partners to uncover business, product, workflow, and integration requirements
\n
• Delivering compelling and tailored product demonstrations to both technical and non-technical audiences
\n
• Translating customer requirements into clear solution recommendations that demonstrate the value and applicability of bolt's products
\n
• Serving as the technical point of contact throughout the sales process and confidently addressing product, integration, and technical questions
\n
• Explaining how bolt's solutions can integrate with existing systems, platforms, APIs, and workflows
\n
• Developing solution concepts, proof-of-concept workflows, and other technical materials to support sales opportunities
\n
• Collaborating with Sales, Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to develop solutions that align with customer requirements and product capabilities
\n
• Supporting RFP/RFI responses, technical questionnaires, proposals, and other sales documentation
\n
• Helping Sales identify technical risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations early in the sales cycle
\n
• Participating in customer meetings, presentations, workshops, and solutioning sessions as the technical subject matter expert
\n
• Creating reusable demo assets, presentations, solution documentation, and other materials that improve the efficiency of the sales process
\n
• Staying current on bolt's products, insurance technology trends, and the evolving needs of the insurance industry
\n
• Bringing customer and prospect feedback back to Product and Engineering teams to help inform product enhancements and roadmap priorities

You will require the following qualifications and skills

\n

\n
• 3+ years of experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Technical Consultant, or similar customer-facing technical role
\n
• Experience supporting enterprise SaaS, insurance technology, fintech, API-based, or other technology solutions
\n
• Experience working directly with customers or partners through discovery, solution design, product demonstrations, and sales cycles
\n
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
\n
• Working knowledge of modern web technologies and integrations, including REST APIs, JSON, web services, and cloud platforms
\n
• Ability to understand technical architectures and integration requirements without necessarily being responsible for hands-on software development
\n
• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect technical capabilities to customer business needs
\n
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
\n
• Experience working in or around the insurance industry, P&C insurance, insurtech, embedded insurance, or insurance distribution is strongly preferred
\n
• Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
\n
