Lead Quality Improvement Specialist

Job Profile Summary Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures and quality audits/review. Requires specialized depth or breadth of expertise in a particular discipline, including breadth of knowledge in related job areas. Leads cross‑functional projects, often of significant risk and complexity. Interprets and addresses business challenges and develops best practices. Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations and may lead the work of others. Oversees the quality improvement portfolio of partners. Job Responsibilities Consulting – Provide expert customer service to partners, quality improvement teams and project staff in the use of improvement science and quality improvement methodology and tools, reliability science, expert level facilitation, and change management methodologies including team building, leadership development and will building to achieve strategic goals and build QI capability amongst partners. Identify and implement QI data‑driven strategies to ensure team success. QI Training – Content development and delivery: Collaborate in the design, objectives and implementation of quality improvement training for partners. Reporting – Create and maintain timely and thorough progress reports which include key driver diagrams, run charts and PDSA documentation. Oversee and contribute to dashboard developments to share progress with partners. Strategic Leadership – Provide leadership for the strategic and tactical planning for portfolio management. Collaborate with the Senior Leadership team to design and implement the organizational structure, determine staffing needs, provide oversight for major service lines (i.e., data and QI) and ensure bi‑directional line of communication with the partner leadership. Ensure collaboration between the project management and quality improvement project team for work deliverables. Coaching/Mentoring – Develop, coach and mentor Quality Improvement Specialists with the goal of developing the skills needed to achieve goals. Management – Provide input for the management team of Quality Improvement Specialists to provide quality improvement support and achieve results for partners and key strategic priorities. Manage partner relationships with all leadership levels. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related discipline, or improvement/engineering OR equivalent. Preferred: Master’s degree. 10+ years experience with quality improvement tools & methodologies & improvement teams OR equivalent experience. Proven results in previous strategic health care improvement projects. Clinical and facilitation experience with medical teams including physician participants OR equivalent. Preferred: 12+ years experience leading quality improvement initiatives OR equivalent experience. Preferred: Experience serving as QIC for Learning Networks. Primary Location Offices at Vernon Place.
