DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES - Social Worker Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Social Services to join our team at Shrewsbury Rehabilitation and Nursing at Southgate in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. As a key member of our facility's leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of social services programs that cater to the unique needs of our residents. Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents in planning social services programs Plan social services programs for residents with various needs, including therapeutic, neurological, and dementia care, dialysis, IV therapy, and infectious diseases Promptly follow up on admission inquiries, evaluate and assess the needs of prospective residents to determine appropriateness of facility placement Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of our residents Recruit, train, and supervise social work staff to ensure effective delivery of services Qualifications and Skills Experience as a Director of Social Work in a large long-term care setting preferred BSW or MSW preferred, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field At least one year of experience in the Social Work field required Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing long-term care facilities About Us At Shrewsbury Rehabilitation and Nursing at Southgate, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to our residents.
