Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Surgical Stepdown

• Provide post-operative care for bariatric reduction and urologic/nephrology surgeries
• Treat infectious processes requiring surgical intervention, such as cellulitis/abscesses or wounds/ulcers
• Manage patients with osteomyelitis, GI diseases (SBO, diverticulitis), and other surgical cases
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Utilize Epic charting system for detailed and accurate patient documentation

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Surgical Stepdown

• Active KS or Multistate RN license with unblemished record
• AHA BLS certification required at submission
• 1-year experience in progressive care/stepdown units
• Education: ADN or BSN
• Ability to float to other post-surgical and med-surg floors as required
