Job Summary The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for accurately receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping materials, parts, and products to support production schedules and customer requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, fulfilling work orders, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, follows established inventory control processes, and contributes to safe, timely, and error-free warehouse operations. Based on the position description, the role supports high-volume operations requiring accurate order fulfillment, inventory transactions, cycle counts, and shipment preparation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: Execute precision picking for shop, assembly, and customer orders, ensuring the correct part, revision, quantity, and location are verified before release. Fulfill complex work orders and BOM-driven requirements across a high-mix environment with thousands of unique SKUs, components, and replacement parts. Receive, stock, label, slot, and organize materials to support efficient pick paths, accurate part identification, and rapid retrieval in a high-volume operation. Record all receipts, picks, transfers, returns, and adjustments in the WMS/ERP system in real time to maintain a reliable system of record. Perform proactive cycle counts, investigate variances, reconcile discrepancies, and support strict audit-ready inventory accuracy at the bin, location, and part-number level. Prepare, pack, and ship sales orders with attention to documentation, labeling, packaging requirements, and customer delivery expectations. Safely load and unload freight trucks while verifying counts, part condition, and documentation accuracy during inbound and outbound material movement. Identify and raise inventory, receiving, or fulfillment issues that could affect production flow, order accuracy, or customer shipment timelines. Other duties as assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume shipping, receiving, warehouse, or materials environment. Strong SKU and part-number fluency, including the ability to differentiate similar components, revisions, quantities, units of measure, and storage locations. Experience navigating high-mix inventory, complex BOMs, multi-line work orders, and large catalogs of unique parts or components. Working knowledge of inventory control practices, including cycle counting, bin/location accuracy, system transaction discipline, and discrepancy reconciliation. Ability to use WMS/ERP systems, scanners, handheld devices, or similar tools to complete real-time inventory and fulfillment transactions. High attention to detail with a commitment to zero-defect work order preparation, accurate order fulfillment, and clean documentation. Ability to prioritize workload, maintain pace during peak activity, and communicate proactively with production, assembly, purchasing, customer service, and logistics teams. Safe material-handling skills, including the ability to load, unload, move, stage, and verify freight and parts while following company safety requirements while using a forklift. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED Preferred 1-3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or a related field. Experience in preparing shipments, receiving goods, verifying deliveries, and maintaining accurate records a plus. Understanding of inventory control processes, including cycle counts and maintaining inventory accuracy a plus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be Capable of standing for extended periods (8+ hours per shift). Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50+ pounds. Flexibility to engage in physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and twisting. Adaptability to work in varying climate conditions, including both cold and hot environments.
