Job Description As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) you will support plasma center operations, working under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager. About BioLife Plasma Services BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The role is aimed at collecting high‑quality plasma to produce life‑changing medicines, with a strong focus on customer service and quality. About the role The Medical Support Specialist will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. You will follow guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, and self‑exclusion. Conduct medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of physician standing orders and transport to emergency care. Consult Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues regarding donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate follow‑up with occupational health or ER as required. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate credential from a recognized nursing program with state licensure. Current state license or certification: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
