Job Details We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Unit Manager to lead our concrete construction operations in the DMV area. This role will oversee all activities of a specific business unit, ensuring efficient operations, project success, and maximized profitability. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of professionals, overseeing project management, and ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the business unit, ensuring all activities align with the company's strategic objectives and standards of excellence. Manage and supervise a team of construction professionals, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and exceptional service delivery. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring all phases (from shoring and forming to pouring, columns, and deck work) are executed effectively. Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to project budgets. Implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate potential project risks and uncertainties. Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Monitor and report on business unit performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 12 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 8 years in a similar operational management capacity. Proven concrete experience in shoring, forming, pouring, columns, deck work, and post-tension. Experience managing $30-50mil in concrete scope over 1-3 projects or more at one time. Experience building teams - recruited, interviewed and hired PMs and Superintendents. Experienced in multi-level cast in place concrete, and/or large heavy industrial work such as warehouses and data centers. Demonstrated experience in project management, risk management, budget management, and procurement. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor teams. Problem solver who can influence formwork, shoring and deck execution, safety, financial forecasting, planning and following company procedure. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in relevant construction software and project management tools.
