Manager Infection Prevention

Job Summary The Manager of Infection Prevention, in conjunction with the Quality Director, Chief Medical Officer, and Infection Disease Director, oversees the development, implementation and management of an Infection Prevention program that minimizes infectious risk to patients, families and team members and complies with current requirements of regulatory, government and accrediting/licensing agencies and organizational policies and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities Lead and manage infection control program for Kent Hospital. Provide direction and oversight to Infection Prevention staff, including coaching, performance management, staff development, and accountability for department goals and outcomes. Analyze, interpret, and report surveillance data. Develop and revise Infection Prevention policies. Design, implement, and lead organizational performance improvement initiatives. Evaluate the effectiveness of the Infection Prevention program. Oversee outbreak investigations and educational programs for team members and patients. Conducts annual risk assessment and develops annual Infection Prevention plan based on population(s) served, services provided, and analysis of surveillance data. Develops initiatives and interventions to successfully meet network and hospital level infection prevention goals. Performs other job-related duties as required or requested. Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred in nursing, medical technology or healthcare related field. Minimum 7 Years of healthcare experience required, including experience in infection prevention or infection control related activities. Rhode Island Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required for individuals with a nursing degree. Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required. Advanced knowledge in aseptic techniques and infection prevention and control procedures. Understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards, including CDC, CMS, OSHA, and Joint Commission requirements. Strong analytical, data collection, and data interpretation skills with the ability to develop effective interventions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, infection surveillance systems, and electronic health records. Effective verbal and written communication, education, and presentation skills. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and manage staff effectively. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in clinical and operational settings. Ability to manage multiple priorities, respond to outbreaks and emergencies, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
