Automotive Mechanic – Mavis Tires & Brakes Location: Smithfield, RI area. About the Position As Mavis's leaders in undercar repairs, Automotive Mechanics are trusted to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. They perform undercar repairs including brakes, struts, and shocks, complete state‑mandated inspections, change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts, and dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires. Qualifications At least 18 years of age. Legally authorized to work in the United States. Minimum 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance or any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Extensive personal toolbox used for undercar repairs. Preferred Qualifications State inspection license(s). ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5). Physical Requirements Automotive mechanics must stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repeated movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair.
