Corporate Technology Lead Data Engineer

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Proficiency in Java or Python, including sound testing and code review practices.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and window functions.
• Experience designing, building, and optimizing production ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and streaming using a framework such as Spark, Flink, or Dataflow.
• Hands-on Kafka experience, including topics, keys, partitions, consumer groups, at-least-once semantics, and schema registry fundamentals.
• Data modeling and experience with partitioning and clustering; hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or a comparable platform, as well as cloud storage or HDFS.
• Production experience with at least one major cloud provider, such as GCP or AWS, using native data services and cost-conscious design.
• Experience with data quality checks, backfills, service-level indicators, observability, reporting, lakehouse platforms, table formats such as Delta, Iceberg, Avro, or Parquet, and time travel.
• Preferred: Experience with Kafka, Flink, or other streaming technologies.
• Preferred: Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including LLMs, prompt engineering, vector search, responsible AI practices, and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Preferred: Financial services experience and understanding of large-scale enterprise data environments.
• Preferred: Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical delivery initiatives.

• Design and develop scalable, secure distributed architectures and data ingestion and processing solutions using suitable cloud-native technologies and services.
• Design, implement, and maintain pipelines that collect, process, and store large volumes of data from varied sources while ensuring timeliness, quality, and completeness.
• Ensure data solutions meet applicable data residency and privacy regulations, and secure data at rest and in transit in line with financial regulations and company-wide policies.
• Engage technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and recommend technical approaches for current and future needs.
• Define the technical target state for the product and drive delivery of the strategy.
• Assess recommendations and provide feedback on emerging technologies.
• Deliver creative software solutions through design and development.
