Accounts Receivable Specialist

Med-Scribe, Inc. is recruiting an Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist for a well-established healthcare organization in Oswego, NY. This is a great opportunity for an experienced medical biller who enjoys the AR side of the revenue cycle and is comfortable working directly with patients, residents and families. In this role, you will manage private-pay accounts receivable, monitor outstanding balances and A/R aging and follow up with residents, responsible parties and insurance companies regarding outstanding accounts. You will also assist with Medicaid-pending accounts, resolve billing and payment discrepancies and help ensure account and payer information remains accurate. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours/week; 7:30 AM-3:30 PM or 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Pay: $25.00/hour Type: Full-time, temp-to-hire Dress: Business casual What You'll Do: Manage private-pay A/R and follow up on outstanding balances Review A/R aging and resolve billing/payment discrepancies Communicate with residents, families and insurance companies regarding balances and payer changes Assist with Medicaid-pending accounts and payer documentation Maintain accurate account information and provide general billing support What We're Looking For: Medical billing and/or A/R experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Professional and empathetic approach when discussing financial matters Ability to manage multiple priorities and frequent interruptions Upon permanent hire, benefits include health and dental insurance, employer-paid life insurance, pension plan, PTO, paid holidays, short-term disability and additional employer-sponsored benefits.
