Sterile Processing Production Coordinator Instrumentum is an innovative provider of off‑site surgical instrument sterilization, transportation, storage, and loaner tray logistics, serving health systems and ambulatory surgery centers. Leveraging recent acquisitions, we are expanding nationwide to disrupt a fragmented, under‑digitized sterile processing industry and meet rising demand for elective surgeries. Location: Phoenix, Arizona About this position As an instrumental part of our sterile processing operations, the Production Coordinator bridges production flow, vendor communication, and tray accuracy, ensuring the safety and readiness of instruments for every procedure. Key Responsibilities Loaner & Consignment Tray Coordination Serve as point person for all incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment trays. Verify accuracy, completeness, and integrity of tray contents before and after sterilization. Coordinate with vendors, clinical partners, and internal SPD teams to guarantee timely, correctly processed instruments. Track and document tray movement through the full sterilization and return cycle. Production & Workflow Oversight Oversee daily production flow with SPD leadership, prioritizing workloads for maximum efficiency. Identify potential delays, discrepancies, or bottlenecks and proactively resolve them. Maintain open communication with technicians and leadership to align production goals with operational realities. Provide guidance or day‑to‑day oversight to Production Technicians as the team grows. Communication & Relationship Management Act as liaison between vendors, clinical teams, and Instrumentum’s SPD staff to ensure clarity, accountability, and trust. Maintain regular communication with partner hospitals and surgery centers regarding tray status, delivery schedules, and special requests. Represent Instrumentum professionally and confidently in all interactions. Data Accuracy & Reporting Ensure accurate and timely entry of data into tracking systems, including tray movements, sterilization records, and performance metrics. Generate reports for leadership summarizing activity, volume trends, and areas for improvement. Uphold documentation standards supporting regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Deliverables Seamless coordination of all loaner and consignment activity, ensuring every tray is accounted for and ready when needed. Proactive communication that strengthens relationships with internal teams and external partners. Highly organized, data‑driven production management that keeps operations running at peak precision. Continuous improvement through process awareness, accuracy, and accountability. Qualifications CRCST or CSPDT certification required. 3‑5 years of hands‑on SPD experience with a strong focus on loaner and consignment tray management. Proven ability to coordinate across departments, vendors, and leadership teams. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tracking and organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency with instrument tracking software and reporting tools. A positive, proactive mindset with a commitment to doing things right—every time. Details On‑site position located in Phoenix, Arizona. Occasional travel may be necessary to share best practices and meet with vendors and partners.
