RN Psychiatric Acute at Dignity Health Job Summary As a Psychiatric Nurse at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you’ll help our patients and their families feel comfortable and educated during significant healthcare decisions. Our patient population needs hands‑on nursing to identify patient needs when they cannot articulate their experience. You’ll build trust by advocating, supporting, and educating patients and families. Your success comes from empathy and patience to help others during a vulnerable time. Responsibilities Routinely conduct rounds, physical assessments of patients, and med pass during your shift to diagnose medical and emotional status. Interact with patients throughout your shift; serve as eyes and ears to notice health and behavioral changes and alert physicians of any changes. Participate in a communal patient population: interact in group settings and lead therapeutic group meetings as scheduled; coordinate with the activities director for the unit. Provide education to patients and caregivers, thoroughly explaining diagnosis and ongoing treatment plans. Job Requirements Minimum of 6 months prior acute care experience in the same unit. Current California RN license. AHA BLS certification. Excellent communication and patient skills. Location – Glendale, California.
