Operations Analyst

Job Description Location: Sun Life embraces a hybrid work model that balances in‑office collaboration with virtual work flexibility. Team members are expected to be present in the office at least 2 days per week. Responsibilities Ensure new and renewal contracts match underwriting approvals and TPA workarounds (Specific, Aggregate, Health Navigator when sold), including dates, claim basis, rates, number of lives, certain fees, address, monthly accommodation, terminal liability, lasers, retirees, transplant vendor endorsements, brokerage, GA, and TPA details are all correct. Customize contracts according to TPA workarounds and what was sold, e.g., if more than one account then sub‑accounts must be customized with different claim basis, rates, and names. Set up the claims system (CMS) to verify all information—deductibles, claim basis, certain fees, lasers, retirees (covered or not)—and enter contacts for policy and payee and banking information. Set up Compass for billing to be sent out to the group. Verify CMS information for accuracy, including deductibles, claim basis, certain fees, lasers, retirees status, and ensure payee and banking data are correct and contacts are up‑to‑date. Review the previous year's contract for rate tier changes (e.g., 2 tiers to 4 tiers). Update commission or Health Navigator additions in Compass when rate tiers change or a Health Navigator is added. Administer contract revisions when notified by underwriting. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 2–3 years of experience in the financial services industry. 2 years of experience working in Stop Loss claims and/or Stop Loss underwriting (preferred). Ability to comprehend and interpret client plan documents and Stop Loss policies (preferred). Broad knowledge of Stop Loss insurance products and processes (preferred). Creative problem‑solving to address complex or non‑routine issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to coach, develop and motivate team members to achieve departmental and SLF goals. Strong negotiation, conclusion‑drawing, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to build effective professional relationships across all levels of the organization and with external TPA administrators and customers. Commitment to fostering a respectful, collaborative workplace that shares information and delivers expected service and financial results. Strong PC proficiency. Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals. Knowledge of company computer systems and products is a strong plus.
