The Harley Davidson Service Technician will play a key role in an independent motorcycle shop's service team, providing expert maintenance and repair services primarily on shop-owned and customer motorcycles. This role requires a hands-on technician skilled in diagnostics, engine tuning, and electrical system repair, with a strong focus on safety and customer interaction. The technician will utilize specialized equipment such as tire machines and perform comprehensive inspections to ensure motorcycles are in top condition.
Responsibilities
- Perform motorcycle repair, diagnostics, and maintenance on both customer and shop motorcycles
- Conduct safety inspections, brake servicing, and engine tuning
- Execute electrical system troubleshooting and repairs
- Replace parts as needed with accuracy and attention to detail
- Mount and balance tires using tire machine equipment
- Maintain detailed service records and work logs
- Engage with customers professionally to explain repairs and maintenance needs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in motorcycle service
- Proficiency in motorcycle diagnostics and engine repair
- Strong skills in electrical system troubleshooting and brake systems maintenance
- Experience with tire mounting and balancing
- Excellent customer service and time management abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification in motorcycle maintenance or repair
- Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) / Universal Technical Institute (UTI)
