Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to join an enterprise technology team undergoing a major infrastructure modernization initiative.

Our client is in the process of migrating its on-premises VMware environment to Microsoft Azure and needs a strong, hands-on engineer to help plan and execute the migration while supporting its existing infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in enterprise systems engineering, virtualization, and data center infrastructure, along with significant experience working in Azure. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys complex technical challenges and wants to be involved in a large-scale cloud transformation.

The work doesn't end with the migration. You'll continue supporting and optimizing an environment that spans Azure, AWS, and on-premises infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

• Plan and execute the migration of approximately 300 virtual machines from VMware to Azure.
• Manage and troubleshoot VMware infrastructure throughout the transition.
• Deploy, configure, and support Azure compute, storage, and infrastructure services.
• Support existing Azure and AWS environments.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and related enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Work with infrastructure, networking, application, and security teams on migration activities.
• Improve monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure automation.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong hands-on Azure infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience migrating on-premises infrastructure or VMware workloads into Azure.
• Deep VMware administration and virtualization experience.
• Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, or data center operations.
• Experience supporting AWS infrastructure.
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.

Nice to Have:

• Azure Migrate or Azure Site Recovery
• VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
• Terraform, PowerShell, or other automation tools
• Microsoft Entra ID
• AWS EC2, S3, and IAM
• Enterprise backup and disaster recovery technologies
• Azure or VMware certifications
