Accountant

Our customer in Dixon, Illinois, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join their team. We’re recruiting an Accountant to work 1st shift. As an Accountant, you will support financial operations, reporting, and analysis while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

• Assist with preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Collaborate with team members and departments to maintain documentation and resolve financial process issues.
• Review company financial strategy and recommend improvements.
• Assist with creation and maintenance of the annual budget, including establishing standards.
• Prepare account reconciliations (cash, liabilities, fixed assets, payroll accruals) and support sub-ledgers.
• Review, update, and implement internal accounting systems.
• Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure proper recording on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Research and resolve account reconciliation discrepancies.
• Analyze financial reports and investigate variances.
• Monitor company expenditures and make recommendations regarding budgets and chart of accounts.
• Prepare and file sales tax requirements.
• Assist with reporting setup and ongoing reporting requirements.
• Support team members and cross-functional departments as needed.
• Maintain and support the computerized accounting system.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 5+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting procedures and best practices.
• Must be fluent in Sage or Epicor ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
• Ability to solve problems, analyze data, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay for Accountant:

Starting at $30-$34/hour.
