Medical Assistant (MA)

Location: Huntington, IN 46750
Duration: 9 Weeks
Schedule:

Monday: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Job Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant (MA) will provide support across both the front and back office. Responsibilities include:

Greeting and rooming patients
Scheduling patient appointments
Answering phones and assisting with patient inquiries
Taking and documenting patient vital signs
Performing blood draws and venipuncture
Administering vaccines
Performing EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
Providing additional clinical and administrative support as needed
Maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with clinical and administrative staff
Supporting health education and outreach initiatives
Ensuring accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience , in addition to externship experience
2–3 years of experience preferred
Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred
Phlebotomy/Venipuncture experience required
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills
Ability to work effectively in both front-office and back-office settings
Comfortable working in an environment focused on patient care, health education, and community outreach
