Landscape Designer / Surveyor

Design dream backyards. Survey real dirt. Make magic happen. Alderwood Landscaping is looking for a full-time Landscape Designer / Surveyor to join our Boise, ID team. This role is the perfect blend of creative design, technical drafting, and in-field surveying, so you’ll get plenty of time both behind a monitor and out in the fresh Idaho air. If AutoCAD is your happy place, and you don’t mind braving a little cold weather to get the perfect measurement, we’d love to meet you. What We’re Looking For: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD (bonus points if your layers are cleaner than your car) Landscape design and horticulture experience preferred Degree in Landscape Architecture preferred 1+ years with a design-build landscape company preferred Experience in 3D modeling is a plus, especially if your D5 skills can make clients say, “Wait… is that real?” In-field survey experience is a plus Creativity, integrity, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently without disappearing into the wilderness What You’ll Be Doing: Landscape design drafting, in-field site surveys, and generating base maps in AutoCAD Working independently while staying connected with a collaborative team Spending some days outdoors in cold or wet conditions (we consider this “character building”) Taking direction from supervisors and contributing to team goals Growing accuracy, speed, and critical-thinking skills as your responsibilities evolve Delivering designs with the level of quality that makes clients say, “This is my backyard?!” Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation, and 401(k).
