Food and family lie at the core of everything we believe at Del Real Foods, and we invite you to apply to join and experience our company culture firsthand, where we view our teams as family, with a shared appreciation for what it means to savor both food, and family.The Quality Control Inspector is under close supervision and following the appropriate GMP's the employee performs basic Quality Assurance assignments using a supervisor or other higher-level inspector as guidance to perform daily assigned tasks.Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity and Life Insurance offeredCompetitive 401(k) planVacation Time9 Paid HolidaysResponsibilities and Duties:Assist in the execution of food safety and quality checks on the line.Provide technical assistance to operations regarding process deviation reports and product specifications.Retain ability to place product on hold that do not comply with food safety/quality or do not meet Del Real Foods specifications, including but not limited to the following:Correctly and completely filling out the QA HOLD Tags and Release InformationClearly stating the reason why product is placed on QA HOLD and any other relative information.Ability to investigate root cause and determine disposition/corrective action under the guidance of QA leaders.Communicate deficiencies food safety and quality opportunities to Quality Assurance and Operations Management.Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality of products on the area assigned.Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and employee safety required.Basic food safety and quality inspections on the line(s) including addressing nonessential corrective actions under guidance/supervision of a QA Lead/Supervisor.Basic knowledge on tools used in the scope of work including but not limited to thermometers, pH Meters, x-ray, and metal detectors, weighing scales.Basic food safety knowledge compatible with meat processing.Report any unsafe conditions to immediate lead, supervisor, or manager.Ability to read and fully understand basic daily forms and records to avoid repetitive errors on daily documentation.Basic understanding of HACCP and reports HACCP deviation to immediate supervisor or lead.Basic understanding of quality assurance policies and procedures such as SQF (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP's, etc.).Reports incidents or concerns of compliance issues with USA & FDA guidelines and regulations.Requirements and Duties:Communication skills: Verbal and written ability to communicate information to QA Lead/supervisor and other team members.Self-motivated, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.Basic knowledge on HACCP and GMP requirements for employee practices in a USDA/FDA Establishment.Knowledge of calibration requirements for all testing equipment used for monitoring tasks of food safety and quality.Knowledge of employee safety practices.Able to follow written instructions and procedures.Knowledge of company employee policies.Flexible schedule, open availability M-F, plus OT and weekends if needed.Work in hot or cold and humid environment.High School/ G.E.DSome experience in the food industry preferred.Bilingual is highly desired.After completing an application, qualified candidates will be scheduled for a phone screen followed by an interview with the Quality Control management team.
