Housing Specialist

Duties

You will review inspections of community rental property to determine adequacy, habitability, and suitability as a listing for referral.

You will make studies and surveys of area ordinances and regulations governing community life and recommend new ordinances, regulations or amendments for improvement of housing administrative policies.

You will assist in development of overall installation plans and procedures for barracks sustainment, to include restoration, modernization, and/or replacement projects.

You will ensure adherence to the compliance of the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) transaction documents and the Community Development and Management Plan (CDMP).

You will work on special studies and implement solutions to unique or extraordinary issues such as large-scale movements of personnel that may result in challenges for current and future housing problems.

You will serve as a point of contact for all housing stakeholders including Installation and Command leadership, and resident and property management to ensure effective and efficient coordination on issues.

You will investigate and respond to inquiries raised by Congress, Inspector General, audit reports or other external agencies.

You will serve as the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), executing day-to-day management of contracts supporting housing functions as required or appointed and overseeing contract staff and assisting them with major problems.
