Job Title Summary Job Title: Admissions Counselor, Traditional Students Division: Enrollment and Marketing Evaluation Group: Staff FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Director, Traditional Undergraduate Admissions; Assistant Director, Traditional Undergraduate Admissions Positions Supervised: N/A Job Summary The admissions counselor for traditional students proactivelycontacts and/or responds to inquiries from potential students todiscuss their educational goals and provide information about thebenefits of attending Lindenwood University. This positionrecruits, onboards, and supports students from inquiry toenrollment and coordinates with Student Financial Services (SFS),Admissions, and Academic Affairs to ensure a streamlined anduser-friendly process. The admissions counselor also delivers uponthe University’s vision to be the next great learner-centricuniversity by providing unparalleled service delivery. Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution Manages recruitment and admissions processes Interacts with a high volume of potential students, usingtelephone, text, email, video conferencing, etc.; buildsrelationships with students in order to help them realizetheirpotential and guide them to an enrollment decision Assists in managing day-to-day operation of St. Charles andother University-affiliated offices Determines financial aid qualifications and/or awards; createsfinancial award packages for new students in collaboration withStudent Financial Services (SFS) and in accordance with theUniversity’s institutional aid policy Represents University admissions at school visits, communityevents, college fairs, and all other recruitment initiatives Meets recruitment goals and adheres to departmental policiesfor student outreach Meets with prospective students and families to explain programofferings; completes new student paperwork; reviews admissibilitystandards Complies with federal, state, institution, and accreditationpolicies and procedures Completes routine reports for recruitment, projections,scheduling, and development Maintains accurate records and data on applicants and admittedstudents Adheres to University policies regarding travel andprocurement Makes admissions recommendations based on holistic review ofacademic profile and extracurricular qualifications Service Excellence Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassadorof the Q2 culture of service excellence Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values Serves as a student concierge, listening attentively tostudents’ needs, providing solutions, and connecting them withappropriate supporting departments Communication, Teamwork, and Collaboration Evaluates effectiveness of programs, assesses outcomes, anddevelops improved programming for the University; identifiesopportunities for process improvements and shares student feedbackwith relevant departments Communicates and tracks all correspondence with current andprospective students within the appropriate application Collaborates with all University departments and academicschools to provide superior student service Assists other recruitment divisions to meet departmental needsand goals Job may require other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications An equivalent combination ofeducation, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position. Bachelor’s degree Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales or recruitmentpreferred Experience in post-secondary education recruitmentpreferred Master’s degree preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals fromdiverse communities and cultures Customer-service oriented with excellent attention todetail Comprehensive knowledge of degree programs, marketing, andpublic relations principles Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communicationskills Organized with the ability to multitask, use good judgement,and think critically Strong professional integrity and ability to maintain strictconfidentiality Knowledge of general office software, particularly MicrosoftOffice Suite and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)systems Work Environment Please click here to view Lindenwood University’s flexible work designation descriptions.
