Delivers effective, timely, and eligible recovery outcomes for communities. Responsibilities What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist. Typical assignments include: 1. Supervising regional staff delivering disaster recovery support and assistance for crises, disasters, emergencies, hazards, and natural or technological incidents. Serves as a senior advisor to regional leadership on recovery policy, operations, declarations, and issue resolution. Engages with state emergency management officials and oversees complex legal, regulatory, policy, and operational work with regional and potential national impact. 2. Managing recovery activation, operations, staffing readiness, resource coordination, stakeholder collaboration, capability building, issue resolution, community planning, outreach, and staff participation in interagency reviews to support unified and effective recovery operations. 4.Serving as an agency-level spokesperson and project lead for nationwide FEMA IA recovery initiatives by engaging elected and policy officials, managing project execution, schedules, contractor performance, technical communications, policy-consistent materials, and program budgets to support effective continuity and emergency recovery operations. Qualifications Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
