Position: Employment & Training Supervisor 1

Location: Bloomfield, CT

Hours: 40 hours per week

Pay Rate: $26.90 Per Hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends

Summary:

• The DMHAS Supervisor is responsible for promoting and expanding employment opportunities for individuals receiving DMHAS services who experience mental health challenges or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. This role maintains an active caseload while ensuring participants have access to employment, job training, and educational opportunities. The Supervisor provides oversight of the DMHAS program with limited supervision and is responsible for managing and supporting all assigned staff. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and relationship-building skills to successfully collaborate with employers, community partners, and service providers. Candidates must have previous supervisory experience. Prior experience in the mental health field is strongly preferred. Individuals with backgrounds in human services, DMH services, direct or residential care, job coaching, and career counseling are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience; OR
• Associate's Degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience; OR
• Bachelor's Degree and one to two (2) years of relevant experience.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders and/or mental health challenges required.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply; fluency in Spanish is a plus but is not required.
• Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Word, email, data entry systems, and internet-based tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, community partners, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to network, develop community partnerships, and foster professional relationships that support participant success.
• Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and access to a reliable personal vehicle required.
• Ability and willingness to transport participants in accordance with agency policies and program needs.
• Ability to travel throughout the service region to residential settings, employer sites, community organizations, and agency offices as needed.
