Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT

Under general supervision, provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels. Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Record treatment information and patient treatment responses in computerized medical records. Act as a resource person to medical staff. Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provide age-appropriate care to patients. Ensure that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records. Perform as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment is essential. Clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and to the age of the patient are required. Ability to interpret the appropriate information to identify patient needs is necessary. Work well under stress and maintain good interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with coworkers and staff is important. Some computer skills are needed.
