Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry

The Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry beginning July 1, 2027. Responsibilities Develop an independent research program supported by extramural funding that integrates biochemical, biophysical, and structural approaches to address fundamental problems in the life sciences. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, especially biochemistry, advanced laboratory courses in biochemistry or molecular biophysics, and introductory and intermediate molecular biophysics courses. Teach one on-campus course each semester and facilitate a journal club or graduate seminar. Establish a new laboratory in the university’s life‑sciences building and participate in the Ph.D. training program and cross‑disciplinary initiatives. Advise and mentor students and participate in faculty governance at the departmental and university levels. Qualifications Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related field. Postdoctoral experience in biochemistry, molecular biophysics, or structural biology. Demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.
