Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced  AML/BSA Analyst to join its Financial Crime Compliance team. This role will focus on  AML investigations, suspicious activity reviews, transaction monitoring, SAR preparation, KYC/EDD, and BSA/AML compliance operations .

The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial-crime investigator who can independently analyze customer and transactional activity, identify unusual or potentially suspicious patterns, conduct well-documented investigations, and clearly communicate investigative conclusions.

This is a hands-on AML/BSA position for someone who is comfortable working with complex cases and applying sound investigative judgment in a regulated financial-services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct AML/BSA investigations involving potentially suspicious customer and transactional activity.
• Review transaction-monitoring alerts and determine whether activity warrants additional investigation or escalation.
• Analyze customer profiles, account activity, transaction history, and other available information to identify financial-crime risks.
• Prepare and/or draft  Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)and supporting investigative narratives.
• Perform  KYC, CDD, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)reviews.
• Investigate unusual transaction patterns and emerging financial-crime typologies.
• Evaluate high-risk customers and activity and make appropriate escalation recommendations.
• Conduct research using internal and external sources to support investigative conclusions.
• Maintain clear, complete, and defensible case documentation.
• Support OFAC/sanctions and other financial-crime compliance reviews as needed.
• Assist with BSA/AML risk assessments and the development and enhancement of internal controls.
• Participate in QA/testing, audits, regulatory examinations, and process-improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve investigative workflows, procedures, systems, and controls.
• Work closely with Compliance, Risk, Fraud, Operations, Legal, and other internal stakeholders.
• Provide AML subject-matter expertise and support special investigations and projects.

Required Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on AML/BSA or financial-crime compliance experience.
• Direct experience conducting  AML investigations and suspicious-activity reviews .
• Experience with  SAR preparation and/or SAR writing .
• Strong understanding of  BSA/AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, and transaction monitoring .
• Experience analyzing transactions and identifying unusual activity, patterns, and potential financial-crime risks.
• Strong investigative writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to independently research cases, evaluate evidence, and reach well-supported conclusions.
• Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple investigations and meet established deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree preferred/required depending on experience.
