This role is ideal for pharmacists who enjoy breadth of practice, continuous learning, and the professional satisfaction that comes from supporting teams and patients across the continuum of inpatient care.The Role: We are seeking a Float Clinical Pharmacist to provide clinical and operational support across multiple inpatient service lines, helping ensure safe, effective, and high-quality medication use for our patients. In this role, you will apply your broad acute care knowledge while developing deeper familiarity with a wide range of specialties and care environments. On a day-to-day basis, you will:Provide clinical pharmacy services across a variety of acute care and inpatient practice areas based on operational and patient care needsReview, verify, and manage medication orders with a strong emphasis on patient safety, evidence-based practice, and therapeutic optimizationServe as a clinical resource to physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other members of the care teamIdentify, prevent, and resolve medication-related problems for patients with complex and evolving clinical conditionsSupport transitions of care through medication reconciliation, monitoring, and patient-specific recommendationsContribute to operational excellence by maintaining continuity of pharmacy services across units and shiftsWhat an average day looks like: No two days are exactly the same. D Degree required.Experience: PGY-1 residency required or equivalent hospital experience. (3 years). PGY-2 residency is preferred for specialty areas.Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy. License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider. BLS certification requiredPhysical Demands - Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease. Onboarding Requirements Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. The pay range for this role is $64.37 - $89.07 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
