The Role

Production depends on equipment that works. As a Manufacturing Maintenance Tech, you keep our facility running smoothly by diagnosing equipment issues, performing repairs and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems, and working collaboratively with Production to minimize downtime and maximize uptime. You are the hands-on technical expert who understands how equipment functions and how to fix it when it doesn't.

This role combines hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance execution, equipment documentation, and proactive communication with the Maintenance Supervisor and Production teams. You'll respond to breakdowns, perform scheduled maintenance on production equipment, maintain equipment records and service logs, and identify equipment needs or upgrades that support operational efficiency and product quality.

What You'll Do

Equipment Troubleshooting & Repair

• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production calls; diagnose mechanical and electrical issues quickly and systematically
• Perform repairs on production equipment (mixers, fillers, capping machines, pumps, motors, conveyors, Pasturizers, RO water and CIP systems); replace worn parts, seals, belts, and components
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues; use multimeters, pressure gauges, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes
• Communicate downtime estimates to Production and Maintenance Supervisor; prioritize high-impact breakdowns; escalate complex issues requiring specialist contractor support

Preventive Maintenance

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules—lubrication, inspections, component replacements, filter changes, and calibration checks per manufacturer specifications
• Identify and address equipment issues before they cause production stops; perform condition-based monitoring (vibration, temperature, noise) to catch wear early
• Monitor equipment performance during production; report recurring issues or degradation to the Maintenance Supervisor
• Support equipment validation and qualification—assist with startup testing, calibration verification, and performance documentation

Documentation & Records

• Complete maintenance logs and service records accurately and on time; document all work performed, parts replaced, and downtime
• Maintain equipment files and maintenance history; organize spare parts inventory and track usage
• Support regulatory readiness and audits; ensure maintenance records are available and complete for inspection

Safety & Compliance

• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and all equipment safety protocols; never bypass safety systems or guards
• Wear required PPE and use safe work practices when working with machinery, electrical systems, or chemicals
• Report safety hazards and equipment defects immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor; participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with Production teams; communicate repair timelines, equipment status, and any known issues affecting scheduling
• Partner with Quality and Sanitation on equipment cleanability, CIP circuit design, and maintenance needs that support product quality and food safety
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor with equipment planning, capital equipment recommendations, and improvement opportunities

What You'll Bring

• 3–5+ years of manufacturing maintenance or equipment repair experience
• Strong mechanical knowledge—comfortable diagnosing and repairing pumps, motors, conveyors, mixers, and general production machinery
• Electrical troubleshooting skills—familiarity with basic electrical circuits, voltage testing, motor controls, and PLC systems preferred
• Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, pressure gauge, tachometer); ability to read equipment manuals and schematics
• Strong problem-solving mindset—you diagnose root causes, not just symptoms; you think through equipment failures systematically
• Excellent attention to detail—precise workmanship on repairs, careful record-keeping, and proactive maintenance planning
• Clear communication skills—able to report equipment status, explain issues and repair timelines to Production, and document work clearly
• Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call support when production demands require it
• Physical capability to lift heavy components, stand for extended periods, and work in temperature-variable manufacturing environments
• Commitment to safety—understand lockout/tagout procedures, equipment hazards, and work safely every shift
• Proficiency with basic computer tools for maintenance logging and documentation
• Industrial maintenance certification or apprenticeship completion preferred
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
