About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Mid Shift | 8-hour shifts with various start times (0645, 1045, 1445) | On-call requirements include approximately once per week on weeknights, every 3rd to 4th weekend, and holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a high-volume OR environment handling 25–45 cases per day across 15 operating suites
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties including general, GYN, urology, plastics, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, spine, EENT, and cardiothoracic
• Perform scrub and circulating roles as required by the unit
• Collaborate with surgical technologists, CNAs, and charge RN staff to ensure safe and efficient room turnover and patient care
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled, including weeknight, weekend, and holiday call assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Illinois (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Minimum of 3 years of OR nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Proficiency in scrubbing procedures
• Ability to comply with a drug-free workplace policy, including a negative drug screen for all panels

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a multi-specialty, high-volume operating room environment
• Familiarity with Epic EMR
• Experience with robotic or cardiothoracic surgical cases
