Hatchery Operations Supervisor

Purpose and Scope/General Summary

Pilgrim's is seeking a Hatchery Operations Supervisor to lead critical hatchery operations, including transportation, egg procurement, inovojection activities, and team member supervision. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while supporting chick delivery, egg inventory management, production goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.

As a key member of the hatchery leadership team, you will work closely with production, maintenance, and transportation personnel to maintain operational excellence, uphold safety standards, and drive team performance. Responsibilities

• Supervise chick delivery and egg pickup driver fleets while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company transportation policies.
• Maintain transportation records, regulatory reports, and GPS monitoring systems.
• Coordinate egg procurement activities and manage hatchery set schedules to support production requirements.
• Oversee inovojection operations and transfer crews to ensure efficiency, quality, and animal welfare standards.
• Support production and maintenance operations through coordination with supervisory and maintenance personnel.
• Serve as backup support for SAP Buy It, SAP Grow It, and timekeeping functions.
• Conduct safety training, lead safety meetings, and perform weekly safety inspections to promote a safe work environment.
• Manage team member performance, including hiring, scheduling, coaching, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Provide leadership support for other hatchery departments during vacations, absences, or operational needs.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, productivity, quality, and cost control.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of hatchery, live production, or plant supervisory experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing employee performance, scheduling, and daily operations.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Ability to serve on an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more as needed.

• Base Salary range of:$60,591.00-$73,618.00
