Summary Responsibilities Certifications and Licensures

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - ACLS is required within 1 month of hire or transfer.

BLS - Basic Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - BLS is required within 1 month of hire or transfer.

DMVCHECK - DMV Record Check Required Equivalent Experience -

EMT-P - Paramedic Required Equivalent Experience - Knowledge of emergency medicine as normally acquired through 2 years of emergency education culminating in licensure as an Emergency Medical Services - Paramedic. Knowledge of pre-hospital care as normally acquired through 2 years' experience working in a Medical Center or similar healthcare setting.

NIMS IS 100 - NIMS IS 100 Introduction Incident Command System Required Equivalent Experience - Within 6 months of hire or transfer.

NIMS IS 700 - NIMS IS 700 Introduction National Incident Mgt System Required Equivalent Experience - Within 6 months of hire or transfer.

PALS - Ped Advance Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Within 12 months of hire or transfer (New requirement as of July, 2016).

PHTLS - Pre Hospital Trauma Life Sup Required Equivalent Experience - Beginning on July 1, 2023, Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) will be required. Employees who hold this position, hire or transfer in to this position will have 1 year to achieve this certification and will be required to maintain it based on the certification renewal period.

TEAM ADVANCED - Techniques for Effective Aggression Mgt Required Equivalent Experience - Within 6 months of hire or transfer (Employees who are in this position on or before 12/31/2023 will have 24 months to complete this certification).

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Equivalent Experience: Knowledge of emergency medicine as normally acquired through 2 years of emergency education culminating in licensure as an Emergency Medical Services - Paramedic. Knowledge of pre-hospital care as normally acquired through 2 years experience working in a Medical Center or similar healthcare setting.
