Store Inventory Control Associate

Weis Markets is seeking an associate for receiving and merchandise handling with focus on customer relations, inventory integrity, and department upkeep. The role supports backroom operations, vendor communications, and safety/compliance in the receiving area. Responsibilities Oversees vendors bringing merchandise in and out of the store; receives, checks, counts, and records all incoming merchandise and records outgoing merchandise for returns to vendors. verifies counts or weights against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records; ensures product is in saleable condition and rejects damaged items. Promotes excellent customer relations by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a polite and professional manner. Focuses on continuous improvement in all areas of the department and implements changes to drive progress. Maintains accurate data entry for received merchandise and proper billing; conducts code date shelf inspections for vendor compliance with rotation and freshness expectations. Executes reclamation procedures for damaged, out-of-code, or recalled merchandise as per company guidelines. Communicates merchandising expectations to vendors as directed by store management; contacts vendors to request products or services to meet customer demand. Reduces shrink by minimizing waste and damages; handles damaged or out-of-code merchandise following established procedures. Maintains backroom and receiving area security, sanitation, and organization by promoting 5S practices; follows safety standards and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition. Supports department and store operations by cooperating with coworkers and supervision; strives for ongoing improvement in job performance. Assists with general sanitation, cleaning per schedules and department guidelines, and disposal of trash; may assist with unloading deliveries using appropriate equipment if trained. May assist with baling cardboard or related duties when properly trained; uses provided PPE including cut-resistant gloves and safety footwear; may assist in other departments as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications High school education or GED required. Preferably two (2) years or more experience in receiving.
