Lead Refurbishment Specialist

As the Refurbishment Lead, you will be responsible for leading the daily refurbishment and repair operations for restaurant equipment used throughout the Waffle House system. In this role, you will oversee refurbishment workflow priorities, support research and development initiatives, and help maintain operational standards for equipment performance and safety. You will also provide hands‑on leadership to the refurbishment team while troubleshooting, repairing, and testing a wide variety of commercial restaurant equipment. The Refurbishment Lead is a Support Team role based out of our Corporate Office in Norcross, GA in the metro Atlanta area. What We Offer: Health & Wellness Package including medical, dental, vision and life benefits, and health‑related activities Employee Assistance Program free to all Associates and their household members Paid time off up to 4 weeks and six paid holidays A strong, unique culture built upon putting people first, showing up and servant leadership Unlimited learning and development opportunities Internal referral program Community involvement and volunteer opportunities Team building activities department and company-wide What you'll do: Lead daily refurbishment operations and coordinate production workflow priorities Clean, repair, refurbish, and test commercial restaurant equipment including grills, refrigerators, coffee machines, dish machines, burners, and other kitchen equipment Train, guide, and support Refurbishment Specialist team members Assist with prototype builds, research and development projects, and operational improvement initiatives Salvage and organize reusable parts and components from retired or damaged equipment Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient refurbishment workspace while providing production reporting updates to leadership What we’re looking for: Someone with hands‑on leadership experience in maintenance, repair, or technical operations Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and commercial equipment repairs Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair documentation Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Someone who values accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement Experience/Educational Requirements: Welding and fabrication experience preferred EPA 608 HVAC Certification or ability to obtain certification Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting Hands on leadership and team training experience In 1955, two Georgia neighbors opened up a restaurant that would change the world.
