- Staff Registered Nurse for ED (58656)CADIZ, KY 42211## OverviewPosition TypePart TimeJob ShiftNightsCategoryEMERGENCY SERVICES## Description**Essential Functions:*** Performs triage by collecting current information, as well as a detailed patient history and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs, using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), triage level system.* Performs patient care and patient care procedures, including IV therapy, wound cleansing and dressing, immobilizations, medication administration and assessments, reassessments and discharge education.* Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes the patient until seen by the provider, based upon nursing standards and protocols* Provides any and all ACLS/PALS interventions* Works directly under physicians, assisting with exams, diagnostic testing and treatment* Documents on the EMR systems, appropriately and completely on patients.* Delegates tasks to Paramedics, LPNs & CNAs, as needed* Communicates and collaborates with other staff members, patients, family/visitors and other departments within the hospital* Any and all other duties assigned by Nurse Manager## Qualifications**QUALIFICATIONS:*** Education: Associates or Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited nursing school* Licensure in Kentucky or Compact State License* BLS, ACLS, PALS. TNCC preferred or required within 1 year of employment.* Experience: Two years minimum experience in ED required**PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean according to TCH standards* Complete annual education requirements and attend annual mandatory skills fair* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times* Report to work on time and as scheduled* Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations* Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times* Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices* Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization* Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities* Attend staff meetings and in-services
