Bus Driver

To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the District's curriculum and extra-curricular programs.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have current/obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Must have a Valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License.

Reports To: Director Of Transportation

Performance Responsibilities:

• Obeys all traffic laws.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school busses.
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
• Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
• Keeps assigned bus clean.
• Keeps to assigned schedule.
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
• Discharges students only at authorized stops.
• Exercises responsible leadership when on out of district school trips.
• Transports only authorized students.
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
• Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
• Reports unprofessional conduct of staff that may be assigned to ride bus.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director

Terms Of Employment: Twelve (12) Month Salary: Hourly

Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
