Home Health Aide 3 days ago Requisition ID: 3360 Salary Range: $15.75 To $15.75 Hourly Job Summary This position is responsible for providing various services to seniors. The services are directed toward enabling the client who is restricted in ability to perform normal activities of daily living and to remain in their home. Responsibilities include providing transportation to and from doctors or other facilities and in-home management. The In-Home Services Manager assigns work in terms of goals and objectives. Essential Functions Essential Functions: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position. Performs housework activities in the home of the client who is restricted in activities of daily living, including floor care (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming) dusting, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry, bed making, washing dishes, and garbage and waste disposal. Provides home management services that the client is unable to do or needs assistance; assists with grocery shopping, banking, preparing meals or delivering prepared meals, writing letters, etc. Documents according to procedures all visits made and services made to client(s) on a routine basis. Provides outreach and follow-up services. Provides escort services to assist in linking the elderly with needed services. Provides information on available social services of Aging Program and other community resources. Provides assistance and training in the management and care of the household, food preparation and nutrition education. Maintains individual, up-to-date records on all clients and services provided on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Coordinates with case manager on a routine basis; immediately informs case manager of crisis situations. Monitors medically-related situations in coordination with physicians, family members, and supervisor. Maintains telephone contact with clients when circumstances prevent a home visit. Additional Duties: Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of aging programs, services and policies, and other available public programs and resources. Knowledge of home care methods, household management, nutrition and food preparation. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations. Skill in using cleaning tools and in driving a program vehicle. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, other agencies, and the public. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain accurate, up-to-date records. Ability to work in an environment with some exposure to chemicals contained in cleaning supplies. Ability to lift more than 20 pounds, unassisted. Working Conditions Typically performed working in a home, using various household appliances and cleaning supplies. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Six (6) months of experience in a related field. Must possess valid Georgia drivers’ license with no outstanding moving violations.
