The receptionist is instrumental in helping patients feel welcomed and comfortable at our offices.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAbility to answer incoming calls by identifying the company, department, and selfAnswers and routes incoming calls to appropriate departmentsGreets patients and determines nature of visitWelcomes patients with eye contact, smile, and immediate verbal acknowledgementUpdates and corrects information in computer and notifies business office of any changesCollects appropriate co-paysSchedules follow-up appointments appropriatelyGenerates office routingsMaintains a professional, neat, and organized workstation as patient’s first impressionUtilizes Practice Management System and Electronic Medical Record appropriately and efficiently as related to job tasksOffers assistance and support pleasantly and willingly at point of serviceObtains referrals if necessary for patientsMaintains a well-organized waiting areaPerforms general clerical: data entry, photocopying, filing, faxing, and e-mailingMaintains a professional attitude at all timesFlexible in meeting the needs of the departmentKnowledge of and compliance with HIPAA standardsMaintains a high level of patient confidentialityFacilitates a harmonious work environment, whereby treating all patients and coworkers with respect and dignityMaintains a safe work environmentMaintains a clean and organized workstationAdheres to all current and future guidelines/policies set forth in the GIA employee handbookWillingness and ability to travel to other GI Associates locations as needed to support operational needsAll other duties as assignedMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent, requiredOne year minimum customer service and/or medical office experiencePhysical RequirementsAbility to remain in a stationary, seated, position for 90% of the time, or greater, throughout the workdaySufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipmentSpeaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone/headsetCapable of reaching overhead and bending down periodically to acquire paperwork, documents, items in desk, etc.Occasionally must be able to lift up to 10 pounds when moving boxes/packages inside the officeE04JI80004vh4097y9i #J-18808-Ljbffr
