Warehouse Manager

The Warehouse Manager isresponsable for coordinating and managing all warehouse activities, including receiving,warehousing, and shipping of products in a manner consistent with Company service and costobjectives, act as a backup for the Corporate Warehouse Manager in his or her absence in amanner consistent with the Company’s policies and service objectives.

Essential Job Functions

Shipping/Receiving

• Manage, coordinate, and assist with the unloading of inbound shipments, placement inpreferred bins, orderly stacking of product, to ensure visibility of product labels andidentification of product for picking and inventory management.

• Prepare and process returns to vendors and receive against purchase orders upon receiptof replacement product.
• Oversee and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers, facilities,and the communication between transport services to ensure efficient deliveries.
• Delegate logistics research to Logistics Specialist
• Operate/facilitate quarterly physical inventory. Assure the integrity of the inventory.Notify, prepare, and train staff to ensure quality of count.
• Maintain product locator system. Ensure the optimal utilization of space throughwarehouse consolidation. Rotate product as appropriate and assist with stock rotations.
• Manage inventory controls, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping,and customer service.
• Maintain and/or develop action plans for productivity and loss prevention.

Labor Management

• Direct the operations of the warehouse staff to achieve prescribed objectives and goals.Collaborate with the Corporate Warehouse Manager on the performance evaluation for allwarehouse employees, including recommending wage increases, discipline, andterminations. Ensure all documentation is updated in a timely manner.
• Interact with Operations, Purchasing, Inside and Outside Sales, Human Resources,Accounting, Customers, and employees. Act as a liaison between employees and topmanagement.
• Train and manage a warehouse team to solve daily operational issues.
• Reach short- and long-term goals.
• Assists in the acquisition of new talent.

Quality

• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Review feedback, monitor work processes, and ensure quality of services provided andcustomer service standards are met.

Scheduling

• Establish work schedules to maintain sufficient staffing within the department, ensuringthat the schedules are correctly implemented and that the jobs are assigned effectivelyand completed properly.

Safety, Sanitation, Security

• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcingstandard practices and procedures. Conduct and comply with operations in accordance withOSHA and MSDS Standards.
• Act as local trainer for new employees and recertification of employees for materialhandling equipment operations safety.

Equipment

• Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment, radiofrequency equipment, and computers.
• Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance asneeded.
• Comply with all policies and procedures as outlined in the company handbook.

Non-essential Job Functions

• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Performs other allied duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience

Associates degree in Business, Operations, or related fields, or in lieu of, High schooldiploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related managementexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, anddecimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common senseunderstanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability todeal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates/Licenses Required

Proper certification for allmaterial handling and material packaging equipment at our facilities is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Kalama Warehouse Manager isexpected to directly supervise employees in the warehouse. Carries out supervisoryresponsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; assessing and trainingemployees; collaborating with the Corporate Warehouse Manager on performance evaluations;rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Work environment consists of an indoor, heat climate-controlled atmosphere. Noise level inthe office is quiet to moderate. Noise level in the warehouse is moderate and occasionallyloud.
