The Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the Harness and Interconnect organization to support the development, build, and verification of harnessing systems. The PCAS organization staffs engineers for a variety of roles supporting primarily tactical missile Integrated Product Teams. Onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ. What You Will Do At this grade level, you will be expected to work autonomously with regular and periodic oversight, have knowledge of the harness and interconnect domain, and coach and review the work of other professionals.​Support may include but is not limited to detailed mechanical design, test design and execution, systems engineering, proposals and estimates, or earned value management. You will be expected to flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.​What You Will LearnThe PCAS organization provides ample opportunities for hands-on hardware work. PCAS engineers are exposed to a variety of lab activities including engineering builds, hardware integration, and hardware verification.​The PCAS organization provides a strong technical learning environment with a dedicated technology pyramid comprised of engineering fellows. PCAS engineers are provided the opportunity for direct access to these subject matter experts, fostering accelerated technical growth.​​Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experienceA minimum of 2 years of engineering design experience.​Qualifications We PreferExperience with development of harnessing requirements, system architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance & function, safety and environmental compliance​Experience working with a wide variety of industry / military standards and specifications​Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5​Experience with any Harness and Interconnect systemsExperience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation​Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components​What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
