RELOCATION ASSISTANCE: No relocation assistance available CLEARANCE REQUIRED FOR START: Yes CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the Time Description Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an internal-only opportunity for a Principal Test Engineer – Regional Ops Support & Test Engr (26-129) at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. The role supports national missile defense operations at the strategic, regional, and operational layers. Position Overview The C2BMC program is a key component of the Missile Defense System, enabling command and control of sensors and weapon systems. The Engineer will coordinate high-visibility projects, manage system configuration, oversee mission management, direct execution, and support real-time data analysis for flight and ground tests. Essential Functions Coordinate with outside agencies on C2BMC matters and attend briefings and conferences on behalf of C2BMC Operations. Develop and publish technical Operating Instructions and coordinate the scheduling, accuracy, and release of all Tasking Orders across the enterprise. Engage with future C2BMC software releases, provide input on system and process improvements, and train and mentor crew personnel. Travel OCONUS as required for site stand‑up, ground/flight tests, and high-visibility activities. Provide on‑call, evening, and weekend support during system anomalies and/or tests. Perform any other duties and assignments as required. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field with 5 years of experience; or master’s degree with 3 years of experience; or 9 years of experience may be considered alternative to a degree. Current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, SecurityX, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+, CISSP). Current, active DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, with ability to obtain TS/SCI. Willingness to travel 10% of the time. Experience in project management, planning, and resource management. Experience leading personnel in the operations and maintenance of large‑scale computer and communications systems/networking environment. Effective communication skills; ability to brief program management and customer leadership on technical issues and reports. Knowledge of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and operating instructions (OIs) for C2BMC operations. Solid background in system and network administration, including Linux and Windows. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Preferred Qualifications Current, active Top Secret clearance and ability to be read on‑board an SCI clearance. Experience with Cisco and Juniper equipment. Experience liaising with other DoD agencies and ballistic missile defense operations. Experience with Linux and/or Microsoft operating systems. Knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency, BMDS, and the Integrated Scheduling Tool (IST). What We Can Offer You Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 – $141,200.00. Depending on position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
