Outside Marine Machinist

We are currently seeking skilled Outside Marine Machinists for a potential 5-year project in Norfolk, VA. This opportunity involves hands-on labor working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for experienced professionals. Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Employment will begin only if and when the company secures the government contract associated with this role. Overview Maintain, repair, and install shipboard mechanical systems and equipment. Responsibilities Disassemble, repair, and align pumps, motors, and valves. Install and test propulsion and auxiliary machinery. Operate precision tools for measurements and alignments. Follow shipyard safety and technical work documents. Qualifications Active DoD Secret clearance required. 4+ years as a machinist, with at least 2+ years on Navy ships. Completion of a formal trade training program (trade school, military training, apprenticeship, or equivalent) required. Ability to read technical manuals and use precision tools.
