Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Contract Period: 6 months (Possible to Extend)
Location: Onsite - ELK River, MN - 55330

Pay Rate: $29/hr on W2

Client: Leading Food and Agriculture Industry

Shift Hours: Mon - Fri (8:00 am - 4:30 pm)

Job Summary

The Procurement and Accounts Payable Support Specialist will support purchasing operations, invoice processing, supplier communication, and general office and shipping activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions, resolution of invoice discrepancies, and efficient mailroom operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, process, and manage purchase requisitions (PRs) in SAP, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with business teams and procurement stakeholders to gather the information required for purchase requisition processing.
• Contact suppliers to obtain missing documentation or information and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Monitor invoices in the Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) system daily and coordinate the timely resolution of payment blocks.
• Provide regular updates on outstanding requisitions, invoice issues, and payment status.
• Escalate critical issues and processing delays to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Coordinate incoming mail and package deliveries, ensuring items are sorted and distributed accurately.
• Receive, record, and organize incoming supplies while maintaining accurate inventory records and stock levels.
• Support outgoing mail and shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and adherence to shipping requirements.
• Provide general administrative support, including greeting visitors and communicating with employees as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and follow established purchasing, invoicing, and administrative procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Working knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable, procurement, purchase requisitions, or invoice-to-pay processes.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to take initiative and resolve issues.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers, internal business teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in procurement, accounts payable, invoice processing, or purchasing support.
• Experience communicating with suppliers and resolving invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Familiarity with invoice management systems and purchase requisition workflows.
• Experience with mailroom operations, inventory tracking, shipping, or general administrative support.
