Job Title Phlebotomist 4891 Job Code CVDJP00034891 Location Norfolk, NE Schedule Mon, Wed, Fri 8am-5pm. Tue, Thu 7am-4pm Duration Contract 3 months with potential to convert to permanent. Summary The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Responsibilities Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontamination, and update patient information. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures. Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures in a clear, courteous manner. Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand physician orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order; ensure 100% accuracy of requisitions or computer labels. Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience. Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and specimen processing. Experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients.
